the Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of two Vietnamese members of a network, along with evidence of a mobile credit card reader or EDC (electronic data capture) machine, a box cutter, the clothes worn on the day of the incident, and a mobile phone, after they had been pickpocketing tourists in tourist areas in the Phra Nakhon area of Bangkok. The latest victim was a Japanese man who was pickpocketed in the area of Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram or Wat Pho. He was robbed of some cash, travel documents, and three credit cards, before using the credit cards to swipe through the mobile card reader to purchase goods totaling more than 400,000 baht.
